Charities Supported by the Beacon Hill Circle for Charity

Mission

The mission of the Beacon Hill Circle for Charity is to support organizations in the Boston metropolitan area that serve women and children in need.

Grant Making

All of the Circle's tour revenue is given away as grants to charitable organizations. Because the size of our grants are typically in the range of $1,000-$3,000, the Grants Committee seeks to fund programs where the impact of our financial support will be the greatest. Site visits and grant proposals are undertaken, and proposals are reviewed and voted by members in the fall and the spring. The programs we support are identified through site visits and speakers at membership meetings. Renewal grants are made on the basis of each program's on-going stability and need for funds. Typically, grants are not made for general operating purposes but are designated for programs that would not otherwise be funded as a routine matter.
